Dr. Wehmeyer joined CDCC in January, 2016. She grew up in Colorado and earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina in 2003. She earned her doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2007 and she completed her Masters in Periodontology with a certificate in clinical and translational research from the University of North Carolina in 2010. She passed the board certification process of the American Board of Periodontology in 2011.
Dr. Wehmeyer served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston and at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. She is currently certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and La Leche League Leader.
Dr. Wehmeyer has a special interest in tongue and lip ties and has been working with families and babies with these concerns since 2012. She has completed specialized training in use of LASERs from the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) as well as specialized training in infant frenectomies and in breastfeeding support for tongue and lip tied babies.
She lives on a farm with her husband and three children.
